General Humanist Organizations and Information
HUUmanists
Humanism is a progressive philosophy of life that, without supernaturalism, affirms our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment that aspire to the greater good of humanity.
The HUUmanists Association strives to promote and extend the use of rational inquiry without supernatural considerations, followed by compassionate action in all human interactions. For over fifty years, the HUUmanists Association and its precursor organizations have celebrated the Humanist Manifesto’s vision of a religion without gods through scholarship, teaching, promotion and advocacy – both within Unitarian Universalism and in the wider world.
American Humanist Association
The American Humanist Association has stood as the voice of humanism in the United States for over 70 years.
We strive to bring about a progressive society where being good without gods is an accepted way to live life. We are accomplishing this through our defense of civil liberties and secular governance, by our outreach to the growing number of people without traditional religious faith, and through a continued refinement and advancement of the humanist worldview.
Humanist Society
Those who are attracted to a positive, progressive philosophy unencumbered by the rigidity of traditional religions embrace the vibrant lifestance of Humanism. The Humanist Society (HS) gives life to Humanism’s rational philosophy by focusing on community and daily living. HS connects you to other Humanists in several ways. Its flagship publication, Humanist Living includes inspirational stories, engaging book reviews, informative articles on raising Humanist children, and other writings about life as a Humanist.
Institute for Humanist Studies
The Institute for Humanist Studies is committed to information and practices meant to address the socio-political, economic and cultural challenges facing communities within the United States and within a global context. At The Institute for Humanist Studies we view humanism as having the moral imperative to extend the circle of justice, caring and concern to all.
International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU)
IHEU is the world union of more than 100 Humanist, rationalist, laïque, ethical culture, atheist and freethought organisations in over 40 countries. Our mission is to represent and support the worldwide Humanist movement. Our aim is a Humanist world in which human rights are respected and everyone can live a life of dignity
