September 29th, the UUFR threw our first Climate Justice Revival. Connie gave a powerful message of caution, but with hope and optimism from current efforts to combat climate change. After the service, the fellowship enjoyed a salad buffet, catered by Connie. The funds for the food were obtained from a grant from UUA. Folks enjoyed their lunch to the beautiful music of a local band, two members of Just Another Dead Band. These amazing artists told the UUFR to donate their commission to the cause of Climate Justice. After the band had played, the remainder of the Salad Buffet was taken to the Rolla Mission, and food waste was taken to Common Grounds Community Garden for composting. UUFR plans to donate a potion of the grant money to Common Grounds to support their efforts of locally grown crops, crop sharing, and composting. UUFR plans to donate the remainder of the grant money back to UUA for their fund to assist people who have been affected by Hurricane Helene in the Appalachian area
